Salpointe’s Haylin Harris took fifth place at the Division I state championships held at the Aguila Golf Course in Laveen. Harris shot 1-over for the tournament (72 73 145) and finished eight strokes behind Alisa Snyder of Xavier (68 69 137 -7).
As a team, Salpointe took third place while Xavier won its 17th straight title and 33rd overall. Ironwood Ridge finished in eighth place.

Nov. 2-3: Del Urich Golf Course
Sahuaro senior Kathryn Ottman should be the main candidate for the state golfer of the year after winning the Division II state championship at the Del Urich Golf Course on Tuesday over Jessica Williams of Amphitheater.
Not only did Ottman win the state title, she defeated D-I champion (Alisa Snyder) and a host of other Xavier golfers by at least two strokes at the Nighthawk Invitational held at Tucson National back in September….
