Salpointe Brandon Bean Soccer Invitational

The Brandon Bean Invitational is held every year to honor a former player who passed away in 1992 after an on-field collision at a soccer scrimmage. In addition, the tournament also honors former girl’s player Laura Kea who died in an auto accident on her way to a soccer tournament.

It has become the soccer rivalry in Southern Arizona and it’s a good one. The Salpointe girls defeated Walden Grove 1-0 on a goal by Rachel Kinnison in the 49th minute to win the championship of the Brandon Bean Invitational Saturday night but the match was just round three of a heavy weight fight….
