Panther Invitational
Mar. 2-5

Walden Grove went 5-0 this past week to capture the championship of the Panther Invitational. The Red Wolves defeated El Paso Socorro 7-6 in nine innings on Saturday afternoon to complete the sweep.

Socorro was down 6-4 in the bottom of the seventh but a double tied the game. The Bulldogs could have won the game right there with the bases loaded and no outs but Payson Ham collected two strikeouts and induced a pop fly to limit the damage.

Gabriel Estrada came up with the game-winning RBI in the top of the ninth and Cesar Garcia preserved the 7-6 lead for the win.

Socorro tied things up in the bottom of the 7th.
