Salpointe improved to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in division play after taking care of Sabino 10-0 in five innings on Thursday. The loss dropped the Sabercats to 1-1 in division games.

The Lancers are coming off of one of their best campaigns ever with 27 wins and an extra-inning loss to Tucson in the Division II semifinal round. Gone are MLB prospects Jio Orozco (Seattle) and Donny Sands (Yankees) but head coach Danny Preble (159-69) appears to have reloaded for another post-season run…..
