Tanque Verde 7th grader Misa Malkin wins third USTA tourney in a row

Misa Malkin won her third tournament in a row by capturing both singles and doubles competition in the girl’s 14s division at the USTA Sun City Junior Masters held in El Paso.

In the singles semifinals the Tanque Verde seventh grader battled both the wind and the hard-hitting Mia Angelina Ruja of El Paso to win 7-5, 6-4. In the finals she defeated Maitlyn Wang of Scottsdale, 6-2, 6-3.

Malkin then teamed with Erica Stutz of Scottsdale to win the doubles competition.

Malkin is a 5-star recruit and is considered the top of the next generation of tennis players in the Tucson area. She is the top seventh grader in Arizona, in the top 11 in the southwest and is ranked in the top 52 nationally.
