Pima Community College baseball players Ryan Ramsower (Salpointe Catholic) and Anthony Felix (Canyon del Oro) represented Pima on Monday as the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference released its All-Conference and All-Region teams.

Ramsower, a sophomore utility player, was selected second team All-Region I, Division II. He batted .361 and played in all 56 games. He led the Aztecs with 53 runs scored, 15 doubles, 10 stolen bases and 202 at-bats. Ramsower also hit three homers with 39 RBIs and 25 walks. He will play at Washington State University beginning in the fall.

Felix, a freshman second baseman, was named a Division II Gold Grove nominee. He had a fielding percentage of .979 with 94 putouts and 89 assists. He played in all 56 games at second base and made only four errors.

Four members of the Pima Community College softball team were rewarded for their efforts on Monday as the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference released its All-Conference and All-Region teams.

Freshman Courtney Brown (Flowing Wells), sophomore Odalis Orduno (Desert View), freshman Margarita Corona (Tucson Magnet) and sophomore Araceli Peralta (Tucson Magnet) were recognized on the teams.

Brown, an outfielder, was selected first team All-ACCAC and to the All-Region I, Division II team. She played in 63 of the 64 games this season and led the team in batting average (.466), runs scored (75), hits (97) and triples (6). She also had six home runs, 72 RBIs and 24 stolen bases. She tied for the team’s best fielding percentage at .972.

Orduno, a pitcher, was named second team All-ACCAC and to the All-Region I, Division II team. She finished the season with a 22-7 record (third in the conference) in 36 appearances. She threw 153.0 innings posting a 3.98 ERA with 80 strikeouts. Orduno won her last eight decisions to close out the regular season.

Corona, a catcher, was also selected second team All-ACCAC and All-Region I, Division II team. She played in all 64 games as she finished with a .421 batting average. She led the Aztecs with 12 home runs, 74 RBIs (third in the conference) and 33 walks.

Peralta, an outfielder, was named third team All-ACCAC. She led the Aztecs in at-bats (209) and stolen bases (26) as she posted a .407 batting average in 64 games. She finished third in the conference in stolen bases. She also tied for the team’s best fielding percentage at .972.

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but college and professional awards. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
