District 12 takes center stage this week with several baseball and softball championships yet to be decided. Rincon took on Randolph Saturday morning at Jesse Owens Park in the first round of the 10-11 baseball championship. The team from Vail came out on top 26-0 to advance to the second round where they will take on Pantano on Tuesday night.
Randolph moves over to the Elimination Bracket and will play Friday, July 8.
Ethan McHolm and Bobby Lofgren combined for a no-hitter and five strikeouts in four innings of work. Matthew Altherr led Rincon with a 2-run homer while River Ries, Bradie Black, Sebastian Wilson, Isaiah Higuera, McHolm and Cristian Cruz picked up doubles.
Jose Zepeda, Joseph Benitez, Sebastian Sandoval and Josh Barrios all pitched for Randolph.
