Cienega outside hitter Imani Litz announced her commitment to Southern University Tuesday. Litz led the Bobcats with 209 kills last year to go along with her team-leading 330 digs.

“When I first talked to the coach (Vanessa Jacobs) about the scholarship opportunities she said “I will either give you a full ride, or nothing.” So of course this made me nervous and I knew I really had to bring it and show the coach I’m worth it,” Litz said.

“After she offered me the full ride, I was in shock I thought is this really happening and I felt so overjoyed. Even now when people congratulate me, I get so happy because I know it’s real and that all my hard work has got me in a place I’ve only dreamed.”

Cienega (-0-0) hosts Canyon del Oro (0-0) tonight at 6 p.m.
