Local seventh-grader Michael Masunas was selected to play football on the 14U US National Team after a final round of tryouts in Canton, Ohio. Masunas will represent the United States of America in International Bowl VIII.

The International Bowl week will be held in Arlington, Texas, in AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, from January 12-16, 2017. The games will be televised on ESPN 3, and will include some of the top high school players in the world.

USA Football is entrusted to build and run America’s only National Team Program, as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. As the sport’s National Governing Body, U.S. National Team events are the only programs that the NCAA has granted permission for current college coaches to train athletes.
