Two-time wrestling state champion Roman Bravo-Young committed to Penn State this morning. Only a junior, Bravo-Young is 83-0 and will be competing for the most dominate team in the country.
Penn State has won four of the last five NCAA championships and it looks like the Nittany Lions are planning ahead by taking one of Arizona’s best.
“I’m excited, and can’t wait,” Bravo-Young said. “They produce and it’s a good school!”
By the time Bravo-Young graduates from Sunnyside, he could conceivably have four state championships and be close to 160-0 in his career. Those numbers do not include what he has been able to do on the Junior Nationals circuit.
“We are overwhelmed with joy! We are all proud of him,” his mother Sarah Bravo said. “I am beyond excited! I’m looking forward to helping my son achieve his dream. I feel he made the best choice to prepare for his future!”
Sunnyside will take on Perry at home on Tuesday, Nov. 22 to start the season.
