Misa Malkin wins 6th USTA junior tournament of the year

Oct. 29-31 Tucson Racquet Club/Rifkin Tennis Center:

In the girls 16’s, Misa Malkin, the number one seed, an Tanque Verde 8th grader, won her sixth singles title for the year.

Malkin defeated Erica Stutz from Scottsdale, 6-2, 6-1, in the semifinal round and then Chloe Gavino (Rincon/University) in the championship 6-1, 6-1.

In the girls 12’s division championship, Aubrey Schroer of Tucson defeated Sanjana Kumar of Phoenix, 6-3, 7–5.

In the boys 12’s singles final, Jared Perry, also of Tucson, defeated Connor Swenson of Scottsdale in a hard-fought, marathon match, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6.
