Former Arizona coach Larry Smith’s grandson Preston Smith is a senior receiver with Mesquite. Coach Smith’s son, Corbin, who is Preston’s father, teaches special education at Mesquite. He is also the assistant head coach and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks and linebackers coach for the Wildcats.
