The Arizona Wildcats have the 20th-best odds to win the NCAA men’s basketball title, according to numbers released Friday from www.Bovada.lv.
Arizona started the season as a 16-to-1 shot to cut down the nets in Phoenix in April, but, presumably, the ongoing eligibility issues of guard Allonzo Trier have lengthened the odds on coach Sean Miller’s team.
The team itself is actually doing just fine, improving to 14-2 overall and 3-0 in the Pac-12 with Thursday night’s 66-56 home victory over Utah. Does 50-1 sound like good betting value to you? (If Trier comes back, the odds are sure to drop.)
Duke and UCLA are the new co-favorites to win the title at 5-1, followed by Kentucky at 6-1.
Here are the top 20 teams (plus ties) according to the Bovada:
Duke — 5/1
UCLA — 5/1
