Mark your calendars! Well, calendars in the distant future.
The University of Arizona football program announced Thursday a future non-conference home-and-home series with Mountain West Conference member Colorado State for the 2027-28 seasons.
The series is scheduled to begin Sept. 4, 2027, with the Wildcats traveling to Fort Collins, Colo. Arizona will host the Rams the following season on Sept. 2, 2028, at Arizona Stadium.
“We are excited to announce this series with Colorado State University,” athletic director Greg Byrne said. “The two schools have a strong history between one another and renewing this regional matchup will be of great benefit to both programs. We think our fans will enjoy games like this, along with the other strong programs on our future non-conference schedules.”
Arizona owns a 13-3-1 advantage in the series that dates backs to November 27, 1926, when the teams split a 3-3 tie in Tucson. Colorado State, ranked No. 23 at the time, won the most recent meeting, 23-16, in Tucson on Oct. 8, 1994. The Wildcats are 10-3-1 at home and 3-0 against the Rams in Fort Collins.
The two teams played six-consecutive years from 1972-77 when they were both members of the Western Athletic Conference. In the six meetings since Arizona joined the Pac-12 Conference, the Wildcats have a 3-2 record.
