19 teams from Southern Arizona qualified for the 3A-6A state playoffs set to begin on Tuesday, Jan. 31 but only six are ranked high enough to host a first-round match.
No. 3 Salpointe and No 8 Catalina Foothills are both hosting first-round matches on the boy’s side while No. 4 Ironwood Ridge, No. 4 Salpointe, No. 6 Walden Grove and No. 7 Catalina Foothills are hosting various levels on the girl’s side.
Only two Southern Arizona teams from the 4A girls bracket are guaranteed a second-round appearance with Salpointe hosting No. 13 Nogales and Catalina Foothills hosting No. 10 Palo Verde on Wednesday.
