(Wisconsin Softball)
D1SoftballNews.com released a “watch list” of 50 players in consideration for the 2017 D1 Softball News Player of the Year on Tuesday and former Sabino standout Kelsey Jenkins was on the list. In addition, Fastpitch News named the Wisconsin junior a Preseason All-American and one of the Top 50 hitters in college.
This list was updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who had gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014 and has been a youth, high school and college coach for over 30 years. His own children have won multiple state high school championships and were named to all-state teams.
