Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage & Brooklyn Beardshear earn college Pitcher of the Week honors

Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage (GCU)

Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage (Salpointe) was named Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 20-26. This is her first-ever honor.

Aguilar-Beaucage went a perfect 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA in three appearances last week in the GCU Invitational. She allowed just two earned runs, while striking out 12 and walking three over 11.1 innings. In a relief appearance against Rhode Island, Aguilar-Beaucage shut down the Rhody offense, allowing just three hits while striking out seven over 4.0 innings to earn the win. She also earned the win in relief against San José State, allowing just one hit over 2.1 innings

Dixie State senior pitcher Brooklyn Beardshear (Sahuaro) was named Pacific West Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second week in a row.

Beardshear repeated as the PacWest Pitcher of the Week with a pair of complete game shutouts of No. 9 Adelphi, giving her three-straight wins over top-10 teams. She threw 12.0 innings in two starts, allowing 11 hits and two walks, and striking out eight. She struck out four in each game, and retired the Panthers in order in three innings in her second win. Beardshear leads the PacWest in wins (7) and ranks second in strikeouts (34).

This list was updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who had gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but college and professional awards. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you are aware of anything I have missed along the way, please let me know.
