Former Arizona Wildcats slugger Bobby Dalbec, a fourth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox last summer, hammered his first home run in the South Atlantic League on Tuesday night.
Dalbec, playing third base for the Class A Greenville Drive, crushed a pitch to the opposite field in a 3-2 win over the Lexington Legends.
Dalbec is hitting .318 as he starts his first full season in the minors. He hit .386 with seven home runs and 13 doubles in 132 at-bats in short-season Class A Lowell last summer after Arizona reached the finals of the College World Series.
