As we reported in February, Cienega standout Dakota Poe was offered a chance to play for the University of Arizona, and the running back accepted an offer to walk-on this past week.

“This means everything to us,” Poe said. “It’s been a life dream to play collegiate football let alone be able to play in my hometown. But I’m just so grateful and blessed to be given this opportunity.”

An All-Southern Arizona All-Star, Poe gained 710 yards in his senior season with 12 rushing touchdowns. He also recorded 42 tackles from the cornerback position.
