Former Lancer Krystal Quihuis qualifies for U.S. Women’s Amateur; wins TRANS National Championship

Former Salpointe and current University of Arizona standout Krystal Quihuis qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur by shooting an even-par 72 at the Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale on June 28. Her Wildcats teammates Gigi Stoll and Haley Moore also qualified.

Stoll won the qualifier held in Bremerton, Washington this past Thursday by one stroke (69) while Moore earned an exemption for finishing in the Top 25 in the Women’s World Amateur Golf Rankings.

The U.S. Women’s Amateur will be played at the San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, California from Aug. 7-13.

ALSO: Quihuis won the TRANS National Amateur Golf Championship held in North Carolina on Friday. Quihuis (70-70-68-73—281) made par in a one-hole playoff to beat Sarah Burnham of Minnesota.
