SABINO QB ALEX BELL
Sabino QB Alex Bell is now a two-time Star of the Night honoree following his 418-yard and eight-touchdown performance last night in a 69-27 win over Empire.
Bell had three primary targets who each had at least 100 yards receiving — Larry Gerald (four catches for 196 yards and two TDs), Luke Moran (eight catches for 165 yards and two TDs) and Bennett Nottingham (seven catches for 112 yards and four TDs).
Bell led Sabino to an 8-2 record in the regular season. The playoffs start Friday.

— Trenton Bourguet completed two TD passes for the Tigers — a 52-yard completion to Valenzuela and a 6-yard completion to Tariq Jordan.
— Marana’s Rene Valenzuela scored on an 8-yard TD run.
— Jaime Avila made a 36-yard field goal.
— Valenzuela scored again, on a 40-yard TD run.
— Marana backup QB Coben Bourguet, Trenton’s brother, capped the scoring on a 9-yard TD completion to Tyler Badruddoja.

— Cienega QB Jamarye Joiner completed three TD passes and ran for another to lead the unbeaten Bobcats.
— Joiner’s TD passes: 14 yards to Terrell Huggins and 18 and 31 yards to Rodney Rodgers. He scored on a 51-yard TD run.
— Thomas Webb Jr. scored on a 1-yard TD run for the Bobcats.
— Nathan Amico also had a 3-yard TD for Cienega.
— Mountain View’s scoring included a 13-yard TD run by Josemaria Alcala and 8-yard TD run by Branden Devoy.

— Tullah Salat had three TD runs (6, 75 and 80 yards) for Desert View. His 8-yard score helped put Desert View up 34-27 with 7 minutes left.
— Poston Butte QB Carter White, who scored on two TD runs, tied the game at 34 with a 1-yard score.
— White completed the comeback win with a 48-yard strike to Tucker Usher in the last minute of the game.

— Isaiah Smotherman led Sabino with 95 yards on nine carries.
