Arizona great Chuck Cecil, a part of the Wildcats’ football staff as a coaching analyst last season, posted a tweet tonight noting that fans should “trust the process” when it comes to the hiring of the next coach after the firing of Rich Rodriguez last night.
Cecil also brought attention to the funeral of Arizona’s legendary baseball coach Jerry Kindall, which will take place tomorrow. Kindall passed away at age 82 on Dec. 24 after suffering a stroke.
“I would like to shift our focus from football onto one of the greatest baseball coaches of all time,” Cecil wrote.
Cecil, a College Football Hall of Famer who excelled as a safety after walking on at Arizona from 1983 to 1987, is currently the No. 3 vote-getter among readers for the top candidate to replace Rodriguez.
Former Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin and former LSU coach Les Miles are the top two voted at this point.
