Cienega standout QB Jamarye Joiner committed to play for the University of Arizona on Sept. 25, 2016 (a story we broke) and, since that day, his collegiate plans have been scrutinized, criticized and debated by pundits – both near and far – and by Wildcat fans of varying degrees. Joiner put all the noise to rest on Wednesday with a simple tweet:
Joiner’s tweet came on the heels of the hiring of Kevin Sumlin and it effectively ended scheduled visits to programs such as Alabama, Nebraska and Baylor. Sumlin further cemented Arizona’s interest in the Southern Arizona Player of the Year and Ed Doherty Finalist with a home visit this afternoon.
The regular signing period for football starts on Feb. 7, 2018.
