VIDEO: UCLA players discuss matchup with Arizona in Pac-12 tourney semifinals

LAS VEGAS — It will be Arizona vs. UCLA for the 100th time tomorrow night with an intriguing story like always in the West Coast’s version of Duke vs. North Carolina.

UCLA leads the series 56-43 after its 82-74 win in Tucson last month.

Arizona (25-7) will look to avenge that loss, which was one of the Wildcats’ most dismal performances in the Sean Miller era.

UCLA (21-10) has motivation of its own with junior guard Aaron Holiday passed over for the Pac-12 Player of the Year honor by Arizona freshman Deandre Ayton.

“Aaron should have definitely got that,” guard Kris Wilkes said after Holiday had 34 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the Bruins’ 88-77 win over Stanford today in a quarterfinal game.

“I think he’s showing why he should be the player of the year. Deandre is a great player, don’t get me wrong, but I think Aaron is the best.”

Holiday said of his performance against the Cardinal: “I just tried to see the way they were playing me. Paint was open a lot so I just tried to get in there and make plays. If I can get in there, jump stop and find somebody and just shoot, it’s going to do well for our team.”

Here are the videos of some of UCLA’s players commenting about the upcoming game with Arizona:

GYORGY “G.G.” GOLOMAN

Had a career-high 16 points against Arizona in the win at McKale Center.

PRINCE ALI

“I expect Arizona to come at us hard. It will be a good game.”

KRIS WILKES

On Holiday: “He stepped up, and when the lights are on him, he always shows up.”

JAYLEN HANDS

On UCLA’s win at McKale, in which he scored 11 points, “We quieted the crowd down from the jump, so that helped us.”
