Former Tucson High Standout Jordan Robinson Nearly Achieves Triple-Double in Pima’s Win

The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (15-4, 8-3 in ACCAC) bounced back from its mid-week loss at Phoenix College with a 100-82 win Saturday against Glendale Community College (10-8, 4-7).

The No. 9 Aztecs had three players finish with double-doubles — sophomores Kennedy Koehler (Henderson, NV, Coronado), Robert Wilson (Salpointe Catholic) and freshman Jordan Robinson (Tucson High).

Koehler produced his 12th double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Wilson collected his eighth double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Robinson finished just short of a triple-double as he posted 13 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds.

The Aztecs opened the game with a 22-5 run in the first 6:20 of the game and led 55-33 at halftime. The Aztecs maintained their double-digit advantage throughout the second half.

Sophomore Abram Carrasco (Cholla) scored 22 points with four rebounds and four assists while freshman Rashad Smith (Chandler Hamilton) added 11 points.

The Aztecs will play their next four games against ACCAC Division I teams. They will begin the second half of the season on Wednesday at Cochise College in Douglas. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
