Salpointe started the season out with two straight losses and that led to a 2-3 record heading into section play. The playoff hopes were shaky at best as the season went on and the Lancers were ranked out of the top 16 as late as last week. Catalina Foothills controlled their section, so earning one of the eight at-large state playoff berths was the only option available and the Lancers may have done just that after beating Mountain View Marana 7-2 on Tuesday…. check out AZPREPS365.com for playoff chances.
