The 2019 Sun Belt College League All-Star Game on Thursday night included a majority of players from local high schools bound for college baseball or already at that level.
By game’s end, an overflow crowd at Kino Stadium was on hand to watch the game and stick around for the postgame July Fourth fireworks show.
The game was won by Team Sonora 3-2 over Team Kino with a walk-off sacrifice fly to right field in the bottom of the seventh by Tucson Champs’ Fabian Ferreira, a Tucson High standout who played at Pima College and is with New Mexico Highlands.
