Pima Community College is reaching out to potential college-level athletes with eligibility in softball and men’s basketball to join their respective teams though ID camps held on the West Campus.
Pima men’s basketball coach Brian Peabody will host his camp this Saturday (Aug. 17) at the West Gym while the softball coach, Rebekah Quiroz, will conduct her camp on Aug. 24 at the Aztec Softball Field.
Peabody’s program — which has reached the NJCAA Division II national tournament the last years — has two scholarship spots available for the 2019-20 season. The ID Camp will be open to undergrad and post-graduate student-athletes. Other college coaches, prep coaches and scouts will be in attendance, according to Peabody.
In order to reserve a spot email Peabody.
Quiroz’s camp will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Aug. 24. Those participating must bring their own gear, such as bats and gloves. The cost is $25 per participant. Please bring cash or checks made out to “Pima Softball.”
All participants must fill out an Audition Consent Release form. Please e-mail it to Quiroz upon completion. The camp is geared toward post-high school graduates. For athletes under the age of 18, a parental/guardian must sign the Parental Consent Form.
For questions or additional information, contact Quiroz at 520-891-0510 or e-mail her.
