Nighthawk Invitational: Omni Tucson National: August 23-24
Xavier Prep standout Ashley Menne leads the field by two strokes after day one. The 3-time state champion shot a 6-under-par 67 to stay ahead of Salpointe standout Mackenzie McRee. McRee ended the day 4-under. She won the D-II state title last year as a freshman.
As a team, Xavier leads the field by one stroke over Hamilton (16-over 308 to 17-over 309).
Play continues today with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on the Sonoran Course.
The Omni is the host site of the AIA state championships.
