Mountain View has a 14-5 advantage over Tucson dating back to 1993. The Badgers won 19-14 last year. Basically an early playoff game for both teams.
5A Buena (2-1) at 5A Desert View (2-1)
Buena holds a 9-2 record over Desert View dating back to 1989 including a 27-8 win last year. Desert View hasn’t beaten Buena since 1994. There might not be a 5A team from Southern Arizona in the state playoffs. One of these teams might need to make a move.
5A Cienega (1-2) at 5A Rincon/UHS (2-1)
Cienega beat Rincon/UHS 56-14 last year in the first meeting between the two programs. The Bobcats need this win just to draw even.
5A Ironwood Ridge (1-2) at 5A Centennial (2-1)
Centennial holds a 3-2 record on Ironwood Ridge dating back to 2008 including 55-7 last year. Could be a long night for Ironwood Ridge, battling one of the top teams in the state.
5A Marana (0-4) at 5A Williams Field (2-2)
Williams Field is 2-0 against Marana including 33-14 last year. Marana is in danger of falling to 0-5 for the first time since 2012.
5A Flowing Wells (0-4) at 5A Paradise Valley (3-0)
Flowing Wells beat Paradise Valley 50-43 last year in the first meeting between the two programs. Flowing Wells is in danger of falling to 0-5 for the first time since 2013.
4A Sahuaro (4-0) at 5A Cholla (1-3)
Sahuaro is 19-3 against Cholla dating back to 1969. Cholla hasn’t won in this matchup since 1978. The Cougars are looking to move to 5-0 and keep pace with Canyon del Oro.
4A Pueblo (3-0) at 5A Sunnyside (1-2)
Sunnyside is 31-12 against Pueblo since 1962. Sunnyside beat Pueblo 21-14 last year. 1992 was the last year the Warriors started out 4-0.
4A Walden Grove (2-1) at 5A Nogales (3-0)
Walden Grove is 3-0 against Nogales by an average score of 37-3. Both teams are trying to prove they are for real come ranking time.
4A Palo Verde (1-2) at 5A Empire (1-2)
Empire is 4-2 over Palo Verde dating back to 2011.
4A Cactus (3-0) at 4A Salpointe (2-0)
Salpointe is 2-0 against Cactus since 2017 by an average score of 45-14. The loser is out of the Open Division. Bijan Robinson is only 536 yards away from setting a new 4A-6A career rushing record.
4A Canyon del Oro (4-0) at 4A Amphitheater (3-1)
Amphitheater holds a 28-19 advantage over Canyon del Oro dating back to 1967 but the Panthers last victory came in 2003. The Dorados haven’t seen 5-0 since 2010.
4A Silver City, NM (1-2) at 4A Douglas (2-2)
Douglas holds a slim 10-8 margin over Silver City dating back to 1924.
4A Casa Grande (2-2) at 4A Rio Rico (2-2)
Casa Grande beat Rio Rico 70-7 last year in the first meeting between the two schools.
3A Blue Ridge (4-0) at 3A Sabino (2-1)
Sabino beat Blue Ridge 38-6 last year in the first meeting between the two schools. Sabino is one of the top teams in Southern Arizona along with Salpointe, Sahuaro and Canyon del Oro but the Sabercats need this win to stay in the 3A hunt.
3A Payson (2-1) at 3A Catalina (0-3)
Payson beat Catalina 32-14 last year in the first meeting between the two schools.
3A Pusch Ridge (1-2) at 3A Snowflake (3-1)
Snowflake beat Pusch Ridge 21-7 last year in the first meeting between the two schools.
3A Tanque Verde (0-3) at 3A Winslow (3-1)
Winslow beat Tanque Verde 40-0 last year in the first meeting between the two schools.

Thatcher holds a 27-12 lead over Benson dating back to 1972 including the last eight since 2009.

Pima holds slim 7-6 advantage on Bisbee dating back to 1991. Bisbee started the 20-10 season out with five wins.

Miami beat Santa Rita 6-3 last year in the first meeting between the two schools.
