The Pima Community College women’s basketball team opened the 2019-20 season on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium with an 88-50 victory over the Park University junior varsity team.
Sophomore forward Hallie Lawson led the Aztecs with 22 points.
Pima cruised after opening the first quarter with a 25-6 lead. Todd Holthaus’ team was never threatened after increasing the margin to 46-18 by halftime.
Pima next heads to Thatcher for the Eastern Arizona Classic on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The first game in that tournament is Thursday against Odessa College at 5 p.m.
