The National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) announced the roster for the 2020 U.S. Women’s Wheelchair Basketball National Team and four members have direct ties to the University of Arizona and the University of Arizona Adaptive Athletics Program.

Current Arizona standout Josie Aslakson and assistant coach Courtney Ryan made the squad that will represent the United States at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games slated for August 25 to September 6, 2020 in Tokyo. In addition, former Wildcats Darlene Hunter and Natalie Schneider will be representing Team USA.

Current Arizona Women’s coach Jennifer Poist earned a Gold Medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics. Her assistant, Ryan, competed at the Parapan American Games last year.

Andy Morales was recognized by the AIA as the top high school reporter in 2014, he was awarded the Ray McNally Award in 2017, a 2019 AZ Education News award winner and he has been a youth, high school and college coach for over 30 years.
