Last week, as part of the Cologuard Classic, two local high school golfers were selected and sponsored by Pioneer Title in cooperation with the Schones Team at Nova Home Loans to participate in the 2020 Pro -Am.
Max Krueger, a 16 year-old attending Salpointe Catholic and Maddie Green, a 17 year-old attending University High School were chosen to play alongside 3-Time Major Champion and World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els.
Both of these student athletes got to play inside the ropes with the 50 year-old Els. Each were able to gain valuable insights and strategies as they both look to advance their golfing careers into college and possibly beyond. Both youngsters played well with Max contributing 5 birdies throughout the round with only one single bogey on his scorecard.
My goal alongside Pioneer Title has been to highlight youth within our community for younger kids to see as role models and examples of the student-athlete. We encourage feedback and messages as we continue to bring these positive stories in the 2020 calendar year. Cheers to Max and Maddie on their future endeavors.
