AllSportsTucson.com had a panel discussion recently with each of us naming Mount Rushmores from different eras of Arizona basketball — Fred Snowden, Lute Olson and Sean Miller.
I put together the Snowden Mount Rushmore, my brother Andy was assigned Olson and Troy Hutchison had Miller. We then combined those 12 players and debated which four should be on the Mount Rushmore of Arizona hoops.
A little background: I have been a sports journalist for 35 years, including 13 years at The Arizona Daily Star, which included being the beat reporter during Arizona’s title run in 1996-97. Andy has worked for the Star, Tucson Citizen and for our site for nearly the last 20 years. Troy is starting out in the profession but he was raised in Tucson by two generations of season ticket holders for football and men’s basketball games.
