Arizona senior shortstop slugger Jessie Harper, who is approaching the NCAA home run record, is hitting it out of the park as well with her sociology schoolwork.
She was named a CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American for the 2020 season today with a 3.68 GPA. This follows her selection as a First-team Softball America Shortened Season All-American.
Harper’s 76 career home runs is tied for fifth-most in Arizona history. Her home run total ranks seventh in Pac-12 history and 12th in NCAA history. She needs 19 home runs in 2021 to tie Lauren Chamberlain’s NCAA record of 95 set between 2012-15.
Her other academic honors in her career:
CoSIDA Academic All-District (First Team) in 2019.
Pac-12 All-Academic (First Team) in 2019.
Pac-12 All-Academic (Second Team) in 2018.
