Former Salpointe Catholic guard Jordan Gainey, a key member of the Lancers’ state championship team this season announced via Twitter today he will not attend Pima Community College as first planned and will instead attend South Kent (Conn.) Prep School.
Gainey signed with Pima in April.
After a lot of thought and considerations, I’m excited to announce that I will be attending South Kent School for a Post Grad Year. I’d like to thank my family and Coach Raphael Chillious for this opportunity. @CoachChills @isaiahthomas @DWRIGHTWAY1 pic.twitter.com/whMeWC41xu

The younger Gainey averaged 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for the Lancers, who won their first state title in school history.
Former Washington assistant coach Raphael Chillious, who coached under Lorenzo Romar with the Huskies, was recently hired to be the Director of Basketball and head coach at South Kent School.
Former Arizona players Chris Johnson (Nick Johnson’s brother) and Kevin Parrom played at South Kent.
