Washington State coach Brian Green, entering his second year with the Cougars, is not letting go of his strong recruiting ties in Tucson that he developed when he was the head coach at New Mexico State.
Former Sabino standout Preston Clifford started at second base as a freshman last season for the Cougars.
Green first recruited him to New Mexico State but when Green left to Pullman, Wash., Clifford decided to attend Washington State instead. Green also recruited the likes of Nick Gonzales (Cienega) and Tristan Peterson (CDO) to New Mexico State when he was coaching the Aggies.
