Arizona Continues to Add Texans, Defensive Players to Class of 2021 Recruits

Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin, with his history as a head coach at Houston and Texas A&M, continues to show his Texas roots with another Class of 2021 commitment from that state today.

Arlington Sam Houston High School cornerback Javione Carr is the latest to pledge to Sumlin’s program, making the announcement via Twitter this afternoon.

Carr, a 5-foot-11 and 160-pound prospect, is the seventh recruit of the class out of Texas. The Wildcats have also drawn four commitments from neighboring Louisiana, specifically from New Orleans. The 11 commitments from Texas and Louisiana is more than the six from California.

Carr is also the 14th defensive player out of the 23 who have committed to Arizona. He is fourth defensive back.

He is not rated by 247 Sports, which lists his primary suitors as Arizona, Arkansas State, Kansas, Kansas State and New Mexico.
