Salpointe junior Antonio Martinez was all over the field for the Lancers in their 37-6 win over Buena at home Friday night. Martinez pulled down a 26-yard touchdown pass, came up with an interception, blocked a field goal and he helped limit the Colts to 50 yards passing from his DB position.
In all, the Lancer defense came up with five interceptions and two fumble recoveries to keep the Colts at bay. For his efforts, Martinez earned APS Digital Print Player of the Week honors and he will receive the Frog & Firkin Football for his teammates to sign as the player of the week is seen as a team award.
