And now, there are three. That would the number of Arizona men’s basketball recruits now committed to Sean Miller & Company.
Shane Nowell, a 6-foot-5 guard from Seattle, committed to the Wildcats Saturday afternoon in what was not a surprising move. It was thought Arizona was ahead of Washington, Washington State and Oklahoma throughout the recruiting process. And, he’s the second of three commitments who has come after Arizona received its Notice of Allegation from the NCAA.
The NCAA Investigation didn’t give Nowell, a four-star recruit, pause to commit to the Cats. Former UA All-American Jason Terry, now an assistant with UA, recruited him out of his native Seattle.
Varying recruiting sites have Nowell as high as in the mid-80s and Rivals.com has him as the 117th best player. Nowell is the younger brother of former Washington Husky Jaylen Howell, who was picked in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft.
Last week, four-star guard Shane Dezonie committed to UA. They join combo guard K.J. Johnson as the third recruit.
