Canyon del Oro sophomore golfer Beckett Carlson is the Jet Sports Training Male Athlete of the Month for January after leading the Boys 15-18 Division of the First Tee Tucson City Junior Series No. 1 from beginning to end to outpace the field by 17 strokes on Jan. 16-17.
Carlson finished with a 4-over 144 that weekend.
Carlson is a rising prospect in local golf who had a top 25 finish in the Junior Golf Association of Arizona Fall Classic at Augusta Ranch Golf Course in Mesa last October.
He finished ninth in the AIA D-II state championship at the OMNI Tucson National Sonoran Course last November.
