Mountain View hosted Mountain Pointe Monday in a match that won’t decide a state playoff spot but there’s still plenty to celebrate with the Mountain Lions competing this year for the first time in school history and the Pride getting a full season in after only playing three matches last year.
The state tournament is one week away so let’s take a quick look at the playoff picture for teams from Southern Arizona:

DIVISION I
Ironwood Ridge (7-3, 2-1) is looking to improve on a playoff seed this week but the team is in and will most likely travel in the first round on May 3.
DIVISION II
Salpointe (10-0, 3-0) is in and playing for the top seed. Canyon del Oro (5-5, 2-1) is on the edge.
