The District 12 Majors baseball championship between the Sunnyside and Rincon Little League all-stars was delayed for more than 30 minutes at Field of Dreams on Saturday night and was eventually postponed because of inclement weather.
The game will resume Monday at 6:30 p.m. with Sunnyside leading 5-1 with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the second inning.
The winner heads to the state tournament in Tempe on Friday.
In softball action, Continental Ranch lost to Cave Creek Cactus Foothills 16-4 on Saturday night in the Arizona Little League state tournament for the 8-9-10 age group at Cottonwood.
Continental Ranch faces Globe Pinal Mountain on Sunday at 6 p.m. in the elimination bracket.

In the Majors state softball tournament, San Pedro Valley was eliminated by host team Queen Creek 11-1.
Sunnyside has reached the elimination-bracket final Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
It will play either Queen Creek or the winner between Phoenix Arcadia and Flagstaff Continental. Arcadia and Continental had their game postponed Saturday night because of rain with Arcadia leading 12-0 in the top of the fourth. Queen Creek plays the winner of that game in an elimination-bracket game Monday at 6:30 p.m.
According to District 12 and Sunnyside Little League officials, an “if” game is not scheduled for the championship.
Cave Creek Cactus Foothills emerged to the championship from the winner’s bracket. If Sunnyside wins the elimination-bracket final Tuesday, Cactus Foothills and Sunnyside would play for the winner-take-all championship on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
