JULY 27, 2021: ONE FINAL GAMEDAY WITH THIS SQUAD
I know in my last post I mentioned something about a Typhoon in my last post.. but for some reason it did not hit us like they thought! BYE BYE TYPHOON LEROY!
One final spit in my little tube and then off to a quick breakfast before we load the bus for a 9:05 leave time. This day is extra special. For many of my teammates it’s the last time they will wear the maple leaf. The last time they will lace up their cleats. I can’t imagine this day with any other group of girls. LOVE IS A CORE VALUE!
As we exit the bus for warm ups there is one final thought that crosses my mind.. A piece of my soul will be left on this field today, I can promise you that! Next check in WE WILL BE BRONZE MEDALISTS, I BELIEVE IT Until next time….
GO CANADA GO!
BEST DAY EVER BEST DAY EVER!!!!
Nothing like finishing out the tournament with the best TEAM WIN! So many emotions were going through my head. Pride, honor, happiness, joy and of course LOVE! I really can’t say enough how much I love this team. We never gave up. We battled the little bit of rain and wind today. Nothing was going to stop us from coming home without a medal!
After returning to the village and getting into podium attire to be ready for the ceremony.
We got the opportunity to watch the gold medal game from the stands. It sucked to watch because we wanted to be in that game SO BAD! But at the end of the day, history was MADE!
It’s 12:30 am the next day and we are just leaving the field after the ceremony and the endless amounts of photos. Holy cow my eyes want to shut so bad BUT I am determined to stay up all night and celebrate.
Thanks everyone for tuning into these entries over the last week! I’ll be heading Stateside TOMORROW!
A special shout out to Andy Morales for having this great idea to put this together! Stay tuned for something by him when I return!
Thank you SO MUCH to those who cheered those hearts out for us. We missed you in the stands but we knew you guys were with us!
LOVE TO EVERYONE WHO CHEERED FOR THE BEST TEAM EVER!!
If you see me around Tucson don’t be afraid to say hey! This game hasn’t seen the last of me. As always, GO CANADA!!
