2020 record: 5-1, went 5-0 in the regular season outscoring opponents 248-26 before losing in the first round of the 1A state playoffs to Williams 38-20.
Head coach: Braden Davis, 16-16, fifth year at St. David and overall. Davis is the school psychologist at St. David who also visits schools in neighboring districts to provide support.

Notes: Prolific passing quarterback Logan Davis, son of coach Braden Davis, has exhausted his eligibility and is helping his dad coaching the St. David quarterbacks this season. Logan completed 317 of 495 pass attempts (64 percent) in his career for 4,262 yards with 58 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. … Haynie is one of the top 1A players in the state returning after rushing for 725 yards on 69 carries with eight touchdowns last season. He also caught three passes for 158 yards, including a 67-yard touchdown. … Merrill and Goodman each had 43 tackles to lead the Tigers last season. Goodman had a team-best six tackles for loss. … St. David’s first two games of the season have been postponed because of COVID-19 implications. The Tigers’ opener against Cibecue, slated for next Friday, will have to be rescheduled after some of Cibecue’s players tested positive for COVID-19. Their second game at Baboquivari, originally scheduled for Aug. 27, will be Sept. 28 at home instead. An outbreak of COVID-19 within the Baboquivari School District has forced students to have remote learning until at least Aug. 23. St. David is now scheduled to open its season against Bagdad on Sept. 3 at North Phoenix Preparatory Academy.
