Arizona’s volleyball team was selected to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship on Sunday night marking the Wildcats’ 30th postseason appearance and the first time David Rubio’s program has participated in the NIVC since its conception in 2017.
The Wildcats (16-15) will face Texas-Rio Grande Valley on Friday at 5 p.m. at McKale Center following the New Mexico State-UNLV match that starts at 2 p.m. The winners of each match will face each other on Saturday in a second-round match at 3 p.m. at McKale.
The tournament is a single-elimination event with all games played at sites of host schools.
Arizona is led by Jaelyn Hodge, who recorded 338 kills and is averaging 3.19 kills/set this season. The defense is led by Kamaile Hiapo with 3.66 digs/set and Zyonna Fellows who is averaging 1.02 blocks/set.
