The Tucson Jaguars 13U team, that competes in the Tucson Youth Football & Spirit Federation (TYFSF), are competing at the AYF national championship tournament from Dec. 5-10 at Kissimmee, Fla. Team member Jake Rogers is taking a daily diary for AllSportsTucson:

Day 1: We are on our way to Orlando Florida! It was a very fun plane ride especially because some of my teammates have never been on a plane flight before. It was fun getting to experience their first plane ride with them. We woke up the next day and went to registration for the national championship! Then we went to Sea World as a team and got to have a lot of fun, ride tons of roller-coasters and bonded as a team and football family.

Day 2: We started off the day with a quick practice. The climate is very different in Florida which makes it very humid. After that we went to get breakfast and then did schoolwork. Football doesn’t happen if we don’t do our schoolwork so we still need to keep up with our work in Florida. Tonight we went to the field to support our Tucson All-Star team then ate another great team meal.

The Jaguars open against the New London (Conn.) Whalers on Monday at 2 p.m. Tucson time in the Division 2 14U All-American bracket.
