The early signing period for college football that began Wednesday signified a true transition of Arizona football into the Jedd Fisch era.
This is symbolic of the first full year of recruiting at Arizona for Fisch and his staff.
Up to this point, the effort like few before it in the history of Arizona football with the Wildcats’ recruiting Class of 2022 rated 40th in the nation and third in the Pac-12 with 20 recruits by Rivals.com.
The final rankings will come in February after the traditional signing period takes place.

We discuss some of the most encouraging developments of the day such as defensive back Ephesians Prysock and wide receiver Kevin Green Jr. flipping their commitment from USC and Arizona, defensive end Tai’Tai Uiagalelei switching from Washington State and Jai-Ayviauynn Celestine coming on to the scene from Miami as a defensive back.
Arizona potentially may have another flip before the early signing period ends — five-star receiver Tetairoa McMillan has commited to Oregon but is mulling over joining his Servite teammates at Arizona especially after the Ducks lost Mario Cristobal to Miami.
Hailing from Servite as part of Arizona’s Class of 2022 recruiting class are quarterback Noah Fifita, tight end Keyan Burnett and linebacker Jacob Manu.
An additional personnel note: former UCLA safety DJ Warnell has transferred to Arizona to join the Bruins’ former defensive coaches Johnny Nansen and Jason Kaufusi (Nansen is Arizona’s new defensive coordinator). Warnell, 6-foot-1 and 201 pounds from Dickinson, Texas, is a Class of 2020 recruit of the Bruins. He saw action in 10 games as a reserve safety and on special teams with the Bruins this season. He was credited with a season-high three tackles against LSU and had two tackles and a forced fumble versus Oregon.
The following is a Twitter feed consisting of Fisch, Arizona Football, Matt Moreno and Troy Hutchison of GOAZCATS.COM, Michael Lev of The Arizona Daily Star and Class of 2022 Arizona recruits.
