Montaya Dew, a Class of 2023 forward who hails from the same high school in Las Vegas that produced Sam Thomas, has committed to Adia Barnes’ program at Arizona.
Dew, who attends Centennial High School in northwest Las Vegas, chose Arizona from 12 finalists including UCLA, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee and Virginia.
A 6-foot-2 wing forward, she is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN. She is ranked No. 19 in the ESPN Super 60 recruiting rankings. She joined Centennial after transferring from Liberty High School in Las Vegas.
She was also selected the Las Vegas Sun Super Seven in the preseason:
When asked what makes her a good player in the above video, Dew said, “On the defensive side, just being able to guard any position and being a rim protector. And then on the offensive side, being able to find the high-low, being able to play good with my teammates and everything like that, being a pass-first (player).”
Dew also said in the interview that she likes tacos. She will have a pick from many Mexican restaurants in Tucson.
