SAM’S CORNER: After tough split in Washington, preparing for Senior Weekend vs. LA schools

Hey Wildcat fans!

Tough weekend this week for us. We were able to get a split at the Washington schools but our goal is always to get a sweep. Now we move on to the next and we have to get a sweep this upcoming weekend. My goal is to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tourney so we have to keep winning to ensure that it happens. For those who watched the game against Washington State and saw Cate get injured, we appreciate all the love, support, and prayers that everyone has been giving.

Next weekend is senior weekend against the LA schools. We start with UCLA on Thursday and then USC on Saturday. We are looking to avenge our loss against USC which was earlier in the season. It would be nice to get these wins and have a winning streak going into the Pac-12 tournament. My family is coming into town. Unfortunately my little sister Jade won’t be able to make it because she is still in season herself at UNLV. They are having a really good season and have a good chance to win their conference. If they end up winning I think it would be so cool for parents if we got to play them. They could come to McKale and it would be sister vs. sister. Of course, I wouldn’t take it easy on her either!

Don’t forget to buy your Valentine’s Day merch with 10% of the proceeds going to The Boys and Girls Club of Tucson. We will also be having a pop-up shop Thursday before the game! I will post the details later this week on my social media so stay tuned for that. You will be able to buy the clothes right there and then with no shipping! You will be able to pick up the shirt and wear it at the game or the next one on Senior Night! We need to have McKale packed this week. It could be our last time there so make sure to tell all your friends and family that McKale is the place to be this Thursday (7 p.m. tipoff against UCLA) and Saturday (noon against USC). Tickets for only $6 to $9 can purchased at this Arizona ticket-office link.
